I was raised in Aspen, Colorado. My parents moved here in the late 1940's. I learned to ski, almost before I could walk. As a young girl I would accompany my parents to high mountain lakes for a weekend of camping and fishing. As an angler, I have spent many hours on the rivers of the Roaring Fork Valley, studying the patterns and colors of trout (the subject of my work for many years).
Self taught, I have been painting and drawing all of my life. I make the pastels I use in my paintings. Because of their handmade nature, they imbue a richness and saturation of color that are unique.
I also enjoy painting on ceramics, working with photography, creating and generating computer images, and designing and building small homes.

My work was used in the Art in the Embassies program, and has been reproduced by many companies including The Nature Company, Patagonia and Andrews McMeel Publishing.

As the ecology and population of our planet continue to challenge societies, it is ever more vital to express the intricacies of our natural environment. It is my hope that we all continue to grow a greater awareness of the beauty and balance of the nature that surrounds us. I feel confident that we can preserve and elevate the quality of our co-existence. Through my work, it is my intention to respond to this beauty that unites the people and animals, the waters, the plants, the trees, the birds, and the planet through the diversity of creation and its inherent wholeness.
