These images were created through the years. I have used the image of a Raven many times in my work. For me they represent the American Indian ancestors that originally inhabited the mountains of my home. I have lived in cabins and tipis in wilderness areas throughout most of my life, and these wonderful birds have been constant companions.
The aerial photo is one of four panels. These photos were taken in 1956 of the Castle Creek Valley outside of Aspen, Colorado. They are hand-colored with small points of gold metallic to represent the Ute Indian name for these mountains, "The Shining Mountains". The cellular and leaf images were commissioned for the Morgan Stanley offices in New York. |
